….and other nonsensical ramblings on a Thursday morning.
- Lovegirl is fixated on two things right now. The song “T.ootsie Roll” and Biz Markie. I feel like I drive a DeLorean and have gone back to the future. She heard T.ootsie Roll on the radio one morning and is now obsesessed with “that song that says woot-woot-woot-woot…” I dare not tell her there’s a corresponding dance. Oh wait, I did. I shouldn’t have – I can’t see myself teaching her how to cotton candy, sweet as gold… Her fascination with Biz Markie is thanks to the N.ick Jr. show Y.o G.abba G.abba. She wants to read a book about him. Um, yeah.
- Please tell me I’m not the only person who is physiologically unable to wear ear buds. I don’t get it. The stupid things fall out of my ears every time – surely my outer ear anatomy cannot be that different than 99.9% of the population??
- My S.tankonia CD is in! Okay, that was more a reminder for me to pick it up than it was for your reading pleasure.
- I have a mid-term tomorrow. I have no idea how I’m going to pull this one off. Do you know how exciting organizational theory is not? I’ve not been able to stay awake and read this mess at all. I’m going to put sticky notes on my forehead tonight and hope that osmosis is a more powerful process than I was taught oh so many years ago.
- There’s a strange golden orb in the sky today. I believe the ancient Incans referred to it as the sun. What a treat!
- Speaking of the sun – if your feet are not in order and ready for sandal season? It is time to start working on those bad boys. A daily once-over with a foot file while in the shower is a great place to start. If your feet are particularly rough, invest in a bottle of A.mlactin lotion. It contains acids which will help smooth rough patches on your feet and elsewhere. It’s a little pricey and smells horrible – I use it at night. You can find it behind the pharmacy counter. I feel a post about giving yourself a proper pedicure coming on. Jacked up feet are a big no-no in my world.
- My graduation from the University of Mississippi is May 8, though we don’t finish our coursework until some time in July. I was contemplating participating. Then I found out that Mrs. O.bama will be speaking at my alma mater’s graduation – Go UAPB – that same day. Hmmm. I’m conflicted. I wonder how difficult it will be to cop a ticket to this year’s graduation. And AR Gal? No comments about funky town. Or Crime Bluff. Or stankonia. Or….well, you get the picture. LOL!
- Smoochy bought me a new cell phone. It’s all touch screen fancy. I miss my old phone. It did what I needed it to do when I needed it done. I can’t figure out jack on this new deal.
- I gotta go. I’ll be discreetly studying from my desk. All day. Wish me luck. Pray that I don’t fall asleep at my desk!
Make it a great day!
You are not he only one about the ear-buds. It seems every pair I come across never fits right. Or they end up hurting because I have them jammed in there.
I am loving this weather we are getting. Now a certain “someone” can ride their bike and play outside.
I feel so much better! I usually use over-the-ear ear phones, but every once in a while I’ll try ear buds. Only to be terribly, terribly frustrated.
The weather is great! I had lunch outside today….
It is hilarious how many bloggers are phone challenged– SELF INCLUDED!! Not a book on Biz Markie!! ROTFL!! MISTER Obama is speaking at Hampton’s graduation!!! JEALOUS!!! I am SO jealous! Wish it had been our year!! Tickets are next to impossible. BAH!! DON’T FALL ASLEEP!!
Hmmmm, you may have a future study on your hands – correlation between blogging and phone operation issues. I have a feeling I will not be seeing Mrs.O – my mom’s on a mission to get us tickets and I don’t have high hopes (don’t tell her!)
I managed to stay awake. Barely.
I’m with you on earbuds. I still haven’t found a bluetooth that I like. I use over your head, old school headphones for my ipod.
Me + a touch screen phone = FAILURE. I’m a slave to my blackberry and I’ll keep it that way.
I cop a slight ‘tude when I see people working out so happily with their ear buds while I’m fighting to keep mine in – good to know others are aurally challenged
He got a blackberry. I got a touch screen. I see I’ve been gypped!
Earbuds are uncomfortable as hell. I’ve never found a set that stays in, fits comfortably, doesn’t get tangled up when I’m trying to do something, etc., etc., etc.
Studying was the biggest struggle for me in school….well that and nice weather which caused me to want to skip more classes than I attended. Knowing that I have to study is the main deterrent keeping me from going back to school. I just ain’t feeling it….yet.
I didn’t think about having tickets to get into the graduation. I don’t believe they did that at my alma mater when I was there. And wasn’t even gone say nuffin’ ’bout ole’ Piney Bluff. (Crime Bluff….that’s funny, I hadn’t heard that one before).
Stankonia…..YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!! Hmmmmm, I wonder if they named that album after PB. *runs like hell*
Have I broken up with you this week? If not, it’s about that time…
Earbuds and other inserted headphones don’t work for me. Someone suggested I try the “skull candy” brand, so I’ll be going to pick those up. I’ll report back.
My earbuds are never in the right way. I got them all sideways when I’m listening to Biz Markie and Tootsie Roll. LOL I wonder if Biz can even read a book. He has that “I dropped out of school in 7th grade” look.
You got jokes….
I am really scared of her Biz obsession – I don’t get it at all – this morning she was like “Mom, let’s talk about other people named Biz. I would like to know more about all the Bizzes.” Uh?
Ear buds don’t work for me either.
Congrats on graduation! I wish my school would’ve done it that way. I finished coursework last August and don’t get to walk until June 12th!
We’ve been seeing the sun in the Chi too, it’s so exciting. I actually love organizational theory… or maybe it’s organizational communication theory… either way, it was one of my faves.
Hope you did well on your test!
I have itty bitty tiny ears..like freakishly small and I don’t so the buds either..You are not aloneeeee, I am here with youuuuuu!
